This week, you and your children will read two books: Larry and Milton and The Lion and the Mouse. Using the two fables, you will create a new page to show how each set of characters behaved. This is a great way to think about how to behave if you were in the same situation and the good choices you would make. Enjoy!
What you need:
- Glue
- Scissors
- Pre-made Kindness vs. Bullying sentence strip sheet and book page (here)
Step 1
Click to read Larry and Milton and The Lion and the Mouse. You can find these books in your Footsteps2Brilliance app under Level 3 (Blue) in the Aesop’s Fables series. Read the books with your child, then complete the activity.
Step 2
Print both the book page and the sentence strips for Kindness vs. Bullying and then cut out the strips.
Step 3
Glue the strips that show acts of kindness on the left side of the book page and glue the strips that show bullying on the right side of the book page.
Step 4
Read each side of the book page you created with a grown up and talk about how the characters acted.
Have fun making a new page of this book and sharing how kindness was a better choice than bullying!
