This week's Family Friday is a special arts and crafts project. Just like in the story, Patti's Pockets, you will collect items in your own "pockets" and then use what you collected to make a nature collage! Read our step-by-step guide on how to use everyday items to create something beautiful!
What you need:
- 3-5 small bags
- Construction paper
- Tape or glue
- Colored pencils or markers
Step 1
Click to read Patti's Pockets. You can find this book in your Footsteps2Brilliance app under Level 1 (Red) in the ALPS series. Read the book with your child. Be sure to touch the illustrations to see the pictures come alive!
Step 2
Just like Patti in the story, use your "pockets" to collect sticks, stones, or flowers from outside. You can collect anything small that is interesting to you, like buttons, feathers, or bottle caps.
Step 3
Using the items you collected, glue them on to a piece of paper and make a pretty collage. Use the colored pencils or markers to add details and fill in the gaps.
Need ideas? Make your favorite animal in their natural habitat or make a family portrait for the fridge. Get creative, the possibilities are endless!
